Hosting a Holiday Craft Party
Hello Friends, Michelle Hill here again today to show you how perfect the Hazel and Ruby products are for hosting a craft party. I hosted four lovely friends for a day full of crafting. One of the FAVORITES we did was the wood sleigh. I found these at Michael’s Arts and Crafts where you can also find our products. The sleigh’s were $9.99 but you could do any wood decor. Here are the steps..
1. Paint your base the parts that are going to show. I did gold all the way around and the edges.
2. Using Mod Podge adhere your pattern paper to the front of the sleigh also put a coat of Mod Podge on top of the pattern paper. Using a xacto knife trim the paper and then sand the edges. Work quickly when using Mod Podge as it soaks into the wood pretty fast. If you see a bubble form in your paper just smooth it down if that doesn’t work I usually use a small needle and pop the bubble. MAKE SURE YOUR MOD PODGE IS COMPLETELY DRY. If it is not then when you apply the mask it will peel up your paper.
3. While that is drying you can apply Mod Podge to the top of the sleigh, I used a glitter paper. Trim that up also with a xacto knife. I then die-cut some felt flowers in holiday colors and hot glued them to the top.
4. Now that it is all dry you get to pick your saying. The Hazel & Ruby Holiday stencil-masks are amazing. I love how everyone picked something different. Once your saying is there go over that area with a coordinating color of paint I used a gold {obsessed with gold} but any paint color will work then peel up your mask… That’s it! I think this would also make a wonderful Christmas Present..Maybe a Neighbors last name and the date they moved in. Anything is possible with creativity!!
